Homemade Face and Body Wipes
Homemade Face and Body Wipes
This clean safe recipe for homemade face and body wipes is perfect to use on any age. I think we will all agree wipes are convenient for just about everywhere. However, many face and body wipes on the market are full of ingredients, like fragrance, that are not great for our bodies. These home made wipes are packed with ingredients that are gentle and nourishing to the skin.
When you have six little hands touching everything in the house lets just say you find an easy way to keep toddler hands clean. To lessen the messy hand prints, and to not spread germs these wipes are my go to. I keep a jar handy in the house at all times, and I keep a small jar stashed in my car. They are great for wiping the kid’s faces and hands after snacks or meal times. I also use them on myself through out the day; they are perfect to wipe your face or hands after working in the yard and garden.
These wipes are also super effective on melted marshmallow cream with pine needles stuck to faces and hands after time at the campfire. I make a large jar of wipes for our camp trips. Not only are they great for wiping our hands and faces, but also our entire bodies. A shower everyday usually isn’t feasible during camp trips. These wipes are great to freshen up during camping times!
You can customize the recipe with any Essential Oil blend you like depending on what you want to use them for. I love to add Thieves blend for the camping wipes, but do be cautious as there is lemon oil in Thieves blend. I also like to include Eucalyptus to the camping recipe as it is smells clean and refreshing.
Safety Note: Be cautious when using oils that are Photo Toxic; oils like grapefruit, lemon, orange and bergamot. such oils are great for skin support however they do make you more sensitive to the sun, and can cause severe burns. Be sure to dilute properly and avoid sunlight for up to 6 hours after you apply the oil. Also always be cautious when using Essential Oils and children. I use this recipe for my children, however feel free to change up the amount of oil you feel comfortable using on your children.

1. Tear apart the paper towels and then fold them in to a square. Stack the folded paper towels in a glass jar with a tight lid.
2. In a separate bowl mix water, witch hazel, aloe vera gel, and grape seed oil. Then add the Essential oils. Pour mixture over the paper towels. The mixture should be absorbed within about 10 minutes.
You may also add a teaspoon of Castille Liquid Soap to the liquid mixture before pouring over the paper towels for an extra boost, however I feel the witch hazel and Essential Oils work just fine on tough messes.
